Requirements:
Must meet the following requirements if you are applying for Naturalization.
Be over the age of 18
Held Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK for at least 12 months
Satisfy the residency requirements
Not be in breach of any UK immigration rules within the qualifying period
Have sufficient knowledge of the English Language and pass the life in UK test
You will need to show that in the last five years you have not been outside the UK for more than 450 days and 90 days within the last 12 months
You are of a good character and sound mind
The "Good Character" requirements:
To qualify for British Citizenship you must demonstrate your “good character”. This means you must not hold any criminal record.
Documents required to register for British citizenship:
When submitting this application, it is important to prepare an adequate portfolio of the relevant documents. It will help the Home Office evaluate your case and speed up the processing time.
The following supporting documents must be sent to the Home Office:
Provide evidence of your identity and permanent residence status, e.g passport, birth certificate, or any other valid travel document
Proof showing that you are free from immigration time restrictions
Evidence of lawful residential presence in the UK during the qualifying period
Evidence of your previous immigration status, including any visa that you held before you settled in the UK
Your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), residence card, or any proof that you hold Indefinite Leave to Remain or EU Settled Status

How to apply:
You must complete and submit an online application for Naturalization as a British citizen. Each section of the form requires you to provide detailed information about your case to prove your eligibility. This includes your biographical data proof of residency details of your immigration history; employment status, and any dependent applying with you.
If you are registering as the spouse of a British national, you must also produce evidence of your relationship.
You are also required to include details of your two referees, who will need to sign your form to confirm your identity and that the information you have provided in the referee form is correct.
Application processing time:
Once you have submitted the application and paid the Home Office fee the process of your application will begin.
Although it is not possible to apply for the priority or super priority Service to speed up this type of applications, you may receive your answer from the Home Office earlier than the expected waiting time.
Once your application is approved, you will need to wait until you are summoned for your Citizenship Ceremony to receive your Naturalization Certificate. Following its receipt, you can apply for your first British passport.
